Baked “Fried” Okra…a Winter Staple!
What you’ll need:
Okra (frozen or Fresh), Salt, Pepper, Garlic Salt, Olive Oil, All purpose Seasoning (i.e. I recommend McCormick’s Perfect Pinch, Original All-Purpose Salt Free) Bread Crumbs, 1 Egg, Water & Flour
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
Prepare Okra with Flour, Egg, and Bread Crumb wash. I find it easiest to use a ziplock bag and do a “shake and bake” style for the Flour and bread crumbs, one bag for each, egg best in a small bowl. 3 dipping stations total. About 7 pc at a time, dip okra first in Flour, remove….next cover in egg (beaten mixed with a dash of water) lastly cover in bread crumbs.
Place okra in oven safe dish. Cover with olive oil, salt, pepper & all-purpose seasoning. Bake, and stir every 10 - 15 minutes for even browning. Cooked untill golden brown.
